20% is good

This was another trip with the girlfriend. We have been planning this one for a while because Criss Angel was in town and I got two comp tickets. She’s a big fan of his. We went Thursday morning and I paid for her ticket again and she offered to pay me back. She’s really nice that way. I said no of course but I kept her match play coupons. I ended up losing on 3 of the 4. I think it’s important to show a girl wins so I’d usually do 2 spins of 2 coupons but I did 4.

We got the couples massage shortly after we checked into the room. She had the same girl but I had a new one from last time. I can’t remember if I’ve ever had her before. She really squeezed my ass good so I was a big fan of her and hope I get her again. She got in there like it was her life’s mission!

After a quick trip to eat at the lounge I played 2/5. Now before I got there I remembered that she said she wanted to gamble this time. She doesnt really know how to play anything and I’d feel bad if she lost so I suggested that she invest in me. Bill Potts suggested 20% so that’s what we agreed to. The first session started out terrible. I 3 barreled a guy and that failed. I was stuck 500 at one point. The great thing about her is most non-gamblers would be breathing down your neck at this point, but she was supportive. I turned it around and actually won 399 that session.

We left around 820 because we wanted to get some Golden Dragon and watch Big Brother. That girl Sam is the best one and I like how she’s literally a robot right now. If she goes first I’ll be pissed. I ate my whole serving of pad Thai while hers lasted 3 days. Small lady. We fell asleep shortly after. You know you’re with the girlfriend when you go to bed at the casino at 1030pm.

We went to the gym the next day then more lounge. Pretty big day of poker. I won 788 in 4 hours. Larry was in the game(he still owes me 700 btw) and he lost with AA vs KK. River. That hand probably cost me a payment. I ended up winning with AA vs KK and getting a big pot.

Criss Angel was fun. He did a lot of fun illusions that are hard for me to figure out, but I’m sure there are logical explanations. He did some fun shit with a 20 dollar bill. It ended really quick. Only 90 minutes, so I played a little more poker. Game wasn’t great and wasn’t getting any cards so I took a 157 loss in 2 hours 45 minutes. After that was bed.

Saturday was interesting to say the least. I saw that ridiculous black girl who SPAZZED with AQ suited at another table and I figured I’d probably have to deal with her Saturday. Little did I know. After lounge breakfast i got my name activated from the call list. There were about 13 names but only like 6 active ones. I did a very smart thing because the main games looked iffy so I rolled my name onto the bottom of the list and then a minute later they made a new game(#Protip) so I got more time in the must move. Eventually I was moved and I won a good pot with queens. Guy I beat left so I left. Took a 237 dollar win over an hour and got my name back on the call list. Always good to pocket a win in those circumstances.

We people watched BJ a little bit and saw a young kid lose around 800 in 25 minutes. Tony hates people like me lol. I partially like those people to lose who just play pit games because I’ll never see any of that money in poker plus the casino are the ones giving me stuff, not him.

Got back in another must move. The black girl was 2 to my left. Here was the hand of the trip. Bill Potts and I had a major disagreement on this one. So, she straddles to 10. Middle position makes it 30(with QQ), I make it 95 in SB with KK, she flats with AQ suited(Bill and I actually both thought this was a very iffy decision). The guy shoves for 350. I go all in, and she has a 424 stack. She calls. She rivers a flush. She probably maybe MAYBE pot committed herself by calling the 95 by only having 329 behind, but i can’t give credit to her because she fucked up by calling the 95. Also judging from last week she totally overplays big suited aces. Not even AK suited. Bill thought it wasn’t a mistake but I say in 2-5 it totally is. Whatever though we disagree on stuff but we both win overall. Saturday was all about getting it back and I ended up only losing 19 in that session. Black girl lost a shit ton of it back and then left. It was a fun trip and I won 1250 and gladly gave her 250.

Saturday is good for poker. Shocking!

Is poker dying everywhere? Even on a FRIDAY last week during high hand it was pretty dead. Unfortunately it didn’t lead to me getting the 500 dollar prize. I also ran like TOTAL SHIT. In the roughly 9 hours of playing on Friday I didn’t flop better than a pair and my greatest hand were nines twice. Trip started out good though. I won 90 dollars on the bus coupon roulette matchplay and then won 35 bucks on the free bet I got. I got there at like 2 in the morning. I probably could have asked work if I could leave early to get the hour earlier bus but I miss so much to go to casino/see girlfriend  that I don’t like asking for favors.

My friend Charlene unexpectedly came to Fox again with her friend Alison from Pittsburgh. I had clam chowder at Cedars because I went to the lounge an hour earlier. My meal was 10 bucks but I used my Platinum card to knock 15% off our total bill so Alison said I was even. She also owes me a 5 dollar chip from Rivers Casino that has a Penguins logo on it. I need that thing, They both played 1/2 after. I watched Charlene. One dealer later asked if Charlene and I were married. We aren’t lol. We also haven’t done a single thing like kissing. I need to be even more careful with that because if the girlfriend is gonna come to Foxwoods sometimes I don’t need any misunderstandings.

Saturday was incredible. Bluffs worked. Hands got paid off. This black chick with tits 66% out was playing 2-5. She’s usually a 1-2 girl, but it was more like a sit n go girl. She got 500 in pre with AQ suited, made kings fold, but short stacked QQ won the whole thing. She was like “AQ suit what else can I do?” She later tried to I GUESS rep something big on a KQ626 board when she shoved 800 more on the river. She ended up trying to get AA to fold and that failed. She was brutally annoying because she said poker was her “Summer job”. Bitch poker isn’t something where you can expect a regular wage and you’re too horrible to expect a steady wage. I ended up winning 2k in poker over 20 hours. Going back Thursday with the girlfriend.

I kind of hate Vegas

The Def Leopard/Journey concert was a good time. The seats were high up but centered so we saw everything, even though they looked like ants. But that’s ok since it was crazy loud and I didn’t need men sweating on me. The girlfriend loves 80s rock and knew all the songs and I knew like 4 combined. It’s not gonna hold a candle to the Lindsey Stirling/Evanescence concerts next month but nothing can.

Totally decided to give up Thursday’s at Foxwoods. We used to get plo8 going on the regular and now there’s no shot. There’s no more high hand that day for NL either. The only value is my points expire at midnight  Thursday but I’ll get the 9pm bus one way or another. I’m ok working the bare minimum at the civilian job as long as I get in the better poker days and see the girlfriend enough. Speaking of that we are getting couples massage and seeing Criss Angel there end of the month, Fox gave us free tickets.

I’m a really big wrestling fan, and it’s actually somewhat kept me from Vegas for a few years. I used to meet up with this wrestling observer convention to watch UFC in July(International Fight Week) but they cancelled that and now meet there on Summerslam weekend. I live in NYC and actually go to NXT and Summerslam so I don’t go, plus going alone to Vegas sucks. It’s also EXPENSIVE. I don’t like paying Uber, rooms, food, everything just so I can play poker. I don’t pay any of that in Foxwoods. You’re legit down 1k at the end of a week if you add all that up.

That’s a good deal!

I went to Foxwoods by myself this time and I was immediately disappointed. The insane deal where the bus gives you 30 match, 30 slot, and 15 food is gone and went back to the old 60 match(or 45 match 15 food). The greeter said that “promotion” ended. Sounds like bullshit to me. The bus grinders were just taking advantage too much.

Foxwoods poker is becoming too much of a grind. There’s a bunch of solid players and very few huge fish. The only one that’s a true reg is Shirley and she doesn’t play that much, and plays random shit. There’s like a group of 6 solid players who all the same, led by the beautiful Michelle. They all respect me and we try to avoid each others tables, but when there’s few tables it’ll happen. Nothing in particular happened in poker and I won 290 over 13 hours 40 minutes.

My friend Charlene came back in. She’s pretty wild with her gambling, but she can afford it. She ran terrible in everything. Pai Gow, BJ, Slots, poker. One thing I NEEEEEED to do is stay with her when she plays BJ. She doesn’t like to double when she should. Like she had a 10 vs a dealer 3 and didn’t double, 50 dollar bet. I jumped on it and won 50. That feels like key money that I need to go for. My girlfriend got tickets to Journey/Def Leopard in Jersey on June 15th so we are doing that instead of Fox. It’s very important to do stuff she likes and sacrifice when she does that for you. Never be selfish in a relationship.

Foxwoods with the Girlfriend

I took a little time off because I felt like I didn’t have too much to discuss. No point in wasting time on a dull blog, so only when something different or interesting happens will I post. So my anniversary with the GF was May 27th. It’s been a great year, and she’s the best girl I’ve ever been with. I told her as a gift we should get a couples massage. By her in Jersey the fee is 295 plus tax and at Fox it’s 280 total and I can use points. Total no brainer. 

She took a cab up to Flushing and I took the train there. There was actually a Sands bus in the Foxwoods spot which is good to know if Bill Potts heads back there and asks me to come up. It leaves at 830pm and I’m never there at that time so it’s good to know. So I met her and the ride was smooth. We went to the Noodle Bar and she really enjoyed the lo mein. I assured her this was low quality restaurant but I’m glad she enjoyed it. It’s VERY VERY good to find a girl who has inexpensive tastes. By the time we checked in and ate we decided to sleep rather than her watch me play poker. It’s important to not seem like a gambling addict when you go to casino with a girl.

The next day we had Panera bread then played poker for 5 hours. I wrote little notes for her giving my opinion on the players and the game on general plus I rubbed her leg a bit. It’s good to keep the girl engaged when you play. It’s not good if you can smell the boredom. I ended up winning 290 on the session. This black woman was a huge fish, but unfortunately she won a massive pot and slowed WAY down after that. Emotionally satisfied not good.

Actually between Panera and poker we did the massage. It was incredible. I’m tall so my neck is funky so that helped a ton. We both agreed to do it again soon. Possibly the end of June because Criss Angel is going there and she’s a fan. There’s also the zip line which I hope takes points but I heard doesn’t. We went to the lounge and she liked the food there too.

We went to the Arcade over there too. There’s good value on one of the crane machines because for 6 points you can play until you win one. I got her a white bear and she won me a bulldog in a construction costume. She said his name was Rubble. I think we went to bed pretty shortly after. I forget.

The next day we went to the gym pretty early. She wants to get back into the gym routine and I showed her what I do. After that we lounged it again and I actually tried to get plo8 going again because a terrible player wanted to play but couldn’t do it. Such a dying game. I actually got stacked for 500. I flopped a set and another guy had gut shot straight flush draw. He turned the non-flush gut shot straight card. No help on the river. I guess I could have gotten away but that’s really really hard to do. We went back to the arcade for a bit and then this restaurant called Sugar.

I actually fucked up and thought there was a cruise from 6-10pm leaving from Foxwoods. This was absurd though and it was just a voucher giveaway for a discounted cruise in the future. Very annoying. After that I played poker for a little bit and lost 37 dollars. Somewhere during the course of the trip we played video poker 10 dollar hands. She had 10% of my action and we came out 40 dollars ahead. 4 bucks for her! When we came back on the bus someone urinated in this empty spot across from us. I hope he gets hit by a car.

Finally got the finances counted

I won 1957 in 2-5 NL over 16 hours and lost 892 over 11 hours and 45 minutes in 2-5 plo8. I’m taking a break, potentially a life long break, from plo8. Too many shoulder shrug aggressive decisions  in that game. If you want to win you need to make them pay for their draw. Or you bet your draw and hopefully they fold or you hit. Problem is the big draw goes against the made hand way too much. It’s  happened to me a lot this trip, lost quite a few times. But a few interesting things happened:

An old lady folded 25 pre with 45 suited and would have won 40k in the bad beat. Obv it’s a good fold but hopefully now she makes that call every time. Good for the game.

My friend Elise got into an incident with another(well known) poker player. It was her turn to show(first), and she didn’t. The guy was pretty aggressive talking to her and she wasn’t having it. She told him to shut up  and he said Fuck You, Sweetheart and that wasn’t exactly a term of endearment in her view lol. They both stayed at the table but I told her he does coke big time so you can’t expect rational conversation.

Counted up my roll. Total assets combined of gold and cash is about 40k. Not bad. I hope to really increase that soon by just playing hold em. But don’t get this twisted, I’m the best player in that plo8 lineup . I’m the only one who’s actually brave. That’s pretty crucial in poker, knowing who is brave enough to do certain moves. I mean that can also be stupidity but still. 

You fat piece of shit!

Now that my Penguins have been eliminated I can go back to my usual casino routine. Some might see this as a good thing, but I assuredly do not. I love my team and all the friends I’ve made at the Penguin Bar. Next year will be better, hopefully. Foxwoods started out pretty badly. Somehow with a free bus ticket, 30 in slot, and 30 in match I still came out a 30 dollar loser. Lost all 3 10 dollar hands of VP plus the roulette spin. I guess it’s not that hard but still. After settling into the room I played 2-5. I actually got hands. Like AA and AK etc that held up plus I won a lot on. Soon this insane(and very pretty) woman joined the game. She was giving 10, 15, 25, 50(!) dollar tips to the dealers and waitresses. She lost a little bit to me because, shock of shocks, she was terrible. Unfortunately I was at a must move and my next table was garbage so I decided to sleep. She was on a break and didn’t have much left anyway. Over an hour I won 616. I wish I could maintain that lol

I got into PLO8 the next day and was probably my unluckiest session ever. Lost with a set vs a flush draw with backdoor low that turned into a straight. Lost with TPTK and weak diamonds and backdoor nut low vs no pair and nut diamonds(but he had 3 of them) and backdoor nut low with a 5. Lost with A4103 vs AAKQ on a 1083 board after the board ran out J9. Finally took a break after my AQ4x was in a 3 way all in pot against mystery cards and AA. No raise pre btw. Flop AQ4. Bricked out so I assume mystery cards were wheel draws. After taking a 1669 loss in 4 hours I had to take a break. Fat piece of shit was the one who put the last 3 hands on me. He’s a new player so he must be feeling great about the game.

The last interesting part of the trip was 2-5 Crazy Pineapple. It’s a thrilling game. The weird part is that the field attracts players you don’t want to face in NL, but it’s like the party game so they play a little bit loose. I did win 377 over 5.5 hours and I’d like for it to go again sometime this trip. Oh and my “casino wife” Charlene came this trip and that’s always great. She tries to get me to become a better tipper but that’s just not gonna happen. I won 138 in minor sessions btw so only a 568 loss.
