If you’re the best, you play there

I’ve given some thought to it and I’ve given up PLO again. I change my mind about things very frequently but I think quitting plo is a good move. I don’t have the roll for 1k max buy-ins and, while there are for sure strategical advantages, I don’t like buying in for 200 dollar bullets. It’s probably recency bias but I don’t win when I do that. YES I REALIZE WHAT IM SAYING IS WRONG AND I SHOULD BUY IN SHORT, but I don’t like it. So I’ve decided to play the plo8 as much as I can, and if I can’t play that I’ll plsy 1-2 NL. I’m the best plo8 player and most assuredly be the best 1-2 player. I’ll try to recruit to plo8 from the NL. Sometimes idiots jump into plo8 so maybe I can help with that. Good chance they’ll be stupid.

I’m heading up to Fox tonight with the GF again. We are going to see the casino version of Price is Right and there’s a possibility we might try to get on there, but it’s a lot of time away from plo8. We will have to see the line I guess. Also getting another couples massage at that spa. My neck has been funky lately so I can use it.

Last week was solid. Annoying people were at roulette so I used the full 60 match coupon in one shot and I won. After checking in to the room I looked at the plo and while there were 2 tables, it was all bad. Glad I’m quitting. I played some 5-10 Omaha HL fixed the next day and lost 63 dollars. Sounds about right. One guy literally never folds preflop so I thought I had a chance. No chance for me.

That’s ok though because we got plo8 going right after. We got a few morons in there. How often does a random mostly clueless black guy waiting to check into his room just sit into this game? Mostly never. But he dropped 800 in a half hour and I got a good bit of it. I lost a big one with A3KK on a 2810 flop where I was the aggressor. Weird spot vs AAJ10 where Q9 ran out. I won 752 over 9.5 hours.

The next day I won 1295 in plo where I got 1k in preflop with 910JQ DS and I won. I was happy I won but it also reconfirmed that I can’t afford to play this game. Plo was pretty terrible after too but I still took a profit in it. I fucked up in the game where I had 2 hundred dollar bills and I actually had 4, but that’s because the previous session I had 4 and I forgot. It won me a good pot but still. I ended up winning 976 on the trip so I’ll take that happily.

  1. i wouldnt have played nearly that high if i werent stuck over $1000 for the day already and just wanted it back without having to play live BJ.
but i sat in the $5-10 blinds half $10-500 spread limit omaha high and half hilow BIG 0 with 5 cards. (the high is only 4 cards). plus its $8 time too per half hour. how much do i need to sit in it? i doubt 13,000 is enough buyins. and the min is 500 the max is 2500, what should i buyin for? and i know its too high, wish they had it lower stakes. only thing lower stakes is the 8-16 stud8 omaha8 mix

    1. I’d say always buy in for the min considering your roll, I should do the same. I’ve always been a proponent of playing out of your roll a LITTLE bit if the competition is relatively weak aka a high upside. It beats playing BJ for sure
