Civilian Job was good to me this week and let me leave at 8 instead of the real time of 8:15. Foxwoods is giving out pots and pans all this month so it changed the giveaway schedule and I would have lost 30 points if I didn’t take the 9pm bus(expired at midnight). I take the 7 train all the way to the Chinese bus and I’d never make it. Great bus btw, very empty. So empty in fact I was able to change my clothes without anyone seeing. I got the 30 and I also won the bus coupon roulette spin.
Nothing really happened big that night. I won 22 bucks over 3 hours. I always leave when the table gets bad, stuck or not. That’s the big upside to playing the same place every week: you know who’s good. Just leave if it’s bad! You’ll get even at another table. I stayed with UFC Mike that night. He keeps a clean room. He’s developed a roulette habit that I’m trying to get him to break. That’ll happen sometimes when you run bad in poker.
Next day was good. After gym I won 1430 in 4 hours 15 minutes at 2/5 NL. I feel like it was a combo of good cards, good plays, and people spazzing out to me. Oh and I also made a nitty old man fold KK preflop when I had QQ and the JJ guy spazz shoved all in pre. Sadly I flopped a set and I did win, but the story would have been better if KK would have won. He left soonly there after. It worked out perfectly because there was 170 in dead money and I’m pretty sure if we all saw a flop JJ gets off cheap and KK puts me on QQ or AA and loses only a little. After dinner I played a super nitty 2-5 game for a half hour and won 6 bucks.
The next day I played the usual 2/5 PLO8 game/10-20 razz(with a half kill this time, we wanted a full kill but Foxwoods either allows or despises the 15/30 level. It makes NO SENSE). I ended up winning 263 in 10 hours. We added stud8 to the mix and the one guy who was very good in s8 was GOD AWFUL in Razz. He came in with 900 and left with 380. I actually started the RE game stuck so that was good. Larry was also stuck big and he got a big chunk of it back. Weather was terrible outside so Larry offered to drive me back because the bus might not run.
The game broke so I went back to NL, and ended up playing heads up 2-5 for a bit. Bill Potts says it’s dumb because they rake too much, and they do, but sometimes I like to practice my heads up game vs bad or mystery players. Unfortunately I ran my Aces into pair/massive draw and he smashed the turn.
I lost 595 in 55 minutes, first real loss in many sessions. I’m going to change my heads up philosophy and only face bad spazzy players. Not even bad nitty players because even though it’s NFND they’ll eventually see flops. In the morning Larry drove me back to manhattan for work. I was super late but they let me work anyway so it was good.
I ended the trip up 1126 in poker.
I need to know the name and where to catch this bus. And why not tell us bad nitty players what NFND means
