I’m such a generous guy

Another week, another Nor’Easter, another lucky break that it didn’t stop me from going to Foxwoods. Snow always seems to stop at the right time. I went to the Penguin game at Barclays and saw them get trounced by the Islanders. This black guy was acting like the Islanders winning was actually supposed to happen. Anyway, after that I stayed with the girlfriend until Thursday morning. Mom was supposed to come up to the casino with me(I was going to buy her matchplay from her) but she got the stomach flu. You can probably brave most illnesses but when you can potentially shit yourself on a 2.5 hour bus ride with a terrible bathroom it’s best to stay home. My aunt and uncle were there though.

Fox gave me 25 in slot, plus I had 30 in slot and a 30 matchplay coupon(I’m very reluctant to call it a 30 “dollar” matchplay coupon but you know what I mean). I somehow turned all of this into a 10 dollar loss. After settling into the room I played 2-5. I lost one dollar over 2 hours 25 minutes. After cashing out I deeply regretted ordering that cup of tea/bottle of water at the end. I’m just scared of not being fully awake playing poker. One time I had no tea and I called a river bet in plo8 with A2xx on like a 3499J board. Not profitable.

A short while I hit a 2-5 NL game and won 963 over 1 hour 40 mins. This was probably the table where I NEARLY HIT THE BAD BEAT for 20k. It limped around and I had 67 of clubs on the button. Flop 8910 clubs and Shirley’s boyfriend had 88. He didn’t hit but I got some decent action from multiple players on all 3 streets. No scare cards for opponents on turn and river. Every few years  I get close.

The next day I took a LOSS in plo8. I missed on a few big pots. I didn’t sit near Larry like I usually do until near the end(when I got a chunk back) so I’m thinking bullshitting with him during the game is good for me. I also made a terrible bluff against Alex and he rebluffed me big time. I broke the play down and I realized how dumb it was. But I’ll learn from it. I win in this game most weeks but I can still learn. We got down to 3 handed and Larry left after not hitting a draw on the river. 564 loss in 11 hours. The craziest flop was 345 of diamonds and I was holding A26 of diamonds.

There was still some time  left in the 500 dollar high hand so I jumped into 2-5 again. It was a good game because this one kid had zero patience. It was a must move and I took like 300 from him. I moved and put 300 in my pocket since the table was a bit of a question mark. The SAME KID  joined my table but luckily didn’t notice I ratholed 300. I ended up seeing a guy I used to play poker with in Albany and announced it was my last hand and I ended up flopping a set on a 10-J-Q all club board. These boards freaked me out. Two streets of value and I checked the river and took it. 415 profit in 1 hour 55 mins.

I’m going to Newark to see the Penguins(probably lose) on Thursday. Just Friday at fox this week.
I won 813 over 17 hours.

Oh and about the title, I met my aunt and uncle and took them to David Burke’s steakhouse and paid for it. 213 points after the discount. I will never go to this place alone.

  1. Be thankful you have a team playing in the postseason. Being a Blackhawks fan, I certainly am not used to seeing the season over at the end of the regular season. Sucks greatly.

  2. I know what you mean, but you could see the writing on the wall after that Nashville series

    1. Let's not forget that Nashville went to the finals and was red hot. A major problem the Hawks had was making a knee jerk reaction, thinking they had suddenly gotten two slow, and making some questionable personnel changes. After ten years of relative calm, things are unsettled now.

  3. Losing like that was a shock to the system, wfuch makes prone to overreaction. Like a really bad run in poker I think.
